About GestaltReview
GestaltReview is an independent, open-access editorial platform dedicated to advancing public and professional understanding of Gestalt therapy, Gestalt psychology, phenomenology, and related humanistic traditions in psychotherapy.
Our Purpose
Gestalt therapy has a rich theoretical and clinical heritage, but it has often remained inaccessible to practitioners, trainees, and curious readers outside specialist circles. GestaltReview exists to close that gap — publishing carefully written educational content that is accurate, in-depth, and genuinely useful for people learning about or working within the Gestalt tradition.
What We Publish
Our content includes:
- Educational essays on core Gestalt concepts — awareness, contact, field theory, phenomenology, and the therapeutic relationship
- Clinical articles on how Gestalt therapy is applied across a range of presentations
- Reflective pieces on the founders of Gestalt therapy and the tradition's intellectual history
- Research summaries and evidence reviews for practitioners and trainees
- Personal essays submitted by Gestalt practitioners and scholars
Editorial Standards
GestaltReview is committed to accuracy and depth. Our editorial process involves substantive review of all published content to ensure it reflects the theoretical and clinical literature faithfully. We are not a peer-reviewed journal in the academic sense, but we hold ourselves to rigorous standards of accuracy, attribution, and intellectual honesty.
Open Access
All content on GestaltReview is freely available. We believe that high-quality educational content about psychotherapy should be accessible to anyone who wants to learn — whether you are a practising therapist, a student in training, a researcher, or simply a curious reader.
